One of the public school children who died of dengue even after reportedly being given Dengvaxia didn’t get the anti-dengue vaccine shots as alleged by the Public Attorney’s Office, a document from the Department of Health has indicated.

According to Chino Gaston’s report on “State of the Nation”, a certification from the city health office of Antipolo showed that 13-year-old Jazzmine Alimagno didn’t get any Dengvaxia shot because she didn’t have her parent’s consent.

Alimagno died in January of dengue.

Chief Public Attorney Persida Acosta, however, said the respondents in the case should just answer the complaint related to Alimagno’s death.

The PAO has filed several complaints in connection with the  deaths supposedly related to Dengvaxia.

Acosta said not all persons who received Dengvaxia shots got an immunization card.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque questioned Acosta’s statement.

“Kanino ba ang burden of proof? Ngayon ang tanong ko, what if anybody just comes there and then, you know, sabihin na nabakunahan kahit hindi,” Duque said.

“How will we find out kung nabakunahan o hindi? Parang mahirap naman yata yun,” he added.

The DOH has repeatedly said that there was not enough evidence to link certain school children’s dengue-related deaths to Dengvaxia. —NB, GMA News
