Biography

Tom, MSPH, MA, is a DrPH candidate at the LSHTM, where he focuses on developing effective messaging to address vaccine hesitancy and limit the spread of misinformation during public health emergencies. Tom is the Associate Director of the Center for Public Health Readiness and Communication and an Assistant Professor at the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health, where he teaches courses in crisis and risk communication. He is also a Fellow of the Center for Risk Communication in New York City where he has developed messaging for a variety of emergency contexts including COVID-19, Zika, and the opioid epidemic. Tom holds a BA from The College of New Jersey, an MA in Health Communication from Pennsylvania State University, and an MSPH from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
