Vaccine confidence in Cameroon is low* compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Cameroon is from surveys conducted in 2023, which showed that 52% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 53% think they are effective. 57% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 51% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Cameroon has decreased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, average vaccine confidence was high*. 72% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 77% thought they were effective. 91% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
