Vaccine confidence in Gabon is high* compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Gabon is from surveys conducted in 2020, which showed that 68% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 70% think they are effective. 88% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 64% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Gabon has decreased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, average vaccine confidence was high*. 60% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 76% thought they were effective. 91% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
