The latest data we have for Senegal is from surveys conducted in 2024, which showed that 88% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 91% think they are effective. 95% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 86% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Senegal has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, average vaccine confidence was average*. 62% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 69% thought they were effective. 80% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
