Vaccine confidence in Uganda is high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Uganda is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 84% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 83% think they are effective. 76% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 74% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Uganda has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, 69% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 65% thought they were effective. 79% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
