Vaccine confidence in India is high* compared to other countries. The latest data we have for India is from surveys conducted in 2023, which showed that 90% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 90% think they are effective. 87% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 74% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in India has remained stable since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, average vaccine confidence was high*. 87% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 87% thought they were effective. 92% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
