Vaccine confidence in Iraq is high* compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Iraq is from surveys conducted in 2023, which showed that 74% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 80% think they are effective. 84% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 74% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Iraq has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, average vaccine confidence was very low*. 0% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 0% thought they were effective. 0% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
