Vaccine confidence in Latvia is very low* compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Latvia is from surveys conducted in 2023, which showed that 42% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 45% think they are effective. 45% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 46% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Latvia has decreased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, average vaccine confidence was high*. 72% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 77% thought they were effective. 85% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
