Vaccine confidence in Mali is very high* compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Mali is from surveys conducted in 2024, which showed that 91% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 93% think they are effective. 95% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines.

Confidence in vaccines in Mali has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, average vaccine confidence was average*. 51% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 68% thought they were effective. 74% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.

The latest data we have for Nigeria is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 81% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 82% think they are effective. 81% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 78% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
