Vaccine confidence in Ecuador is high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Ecuador is from surveys conducted in 2020 which showed that 82% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 83% think they are effective. 89% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 69% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Ecuador has declined since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, 95% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 96% thought they were effective. 99% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines and 79% felt that vaccines were compatible with their religious beliefs.
