The latest data we have for Ireland is from surveys conducted in 2023, which showed that 72% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 76% think they are effective. 75% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 72% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Ireland has decreased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, average vaccine confidence was high*. 85% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 90% thought they were effective. 91% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
