The latest data we have for Italy is from surveys conducted in 2023, which showed that 68% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 71% think they are effective. 71% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 71% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Italy has decreased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, average vaccine confidence was high*. 72% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 77% thought they were effective. 81% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
