Vaccine confidence in Laos is very high* compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Laos is from surveys conducted in 2022, which showed that 91% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 91% think they are effective. 90% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 78% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.
Confidence in vaccines in Laos has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, average vaccine confidence was very low*. 48% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 47% thought they were effective. 51% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
