Vaccine confidence in Malaysia is high* compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Malaysia is from surveys conducted in 2024, which showed that 83% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 87% think they are effective. 87% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 80% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Malaysia has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, average vaccine confidence was low*. 56% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 55% thought they were effective. 58% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
