Vaccine confidence in Sierra Leone is high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Sierra Leone is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 88% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 88% think they are effective. 75% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 72% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Sierra Leone has declined since the first surveys carried out there. In 2018, 82% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 83% thought they were effective. 87% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
