Vaccine confidence in Peru is high* compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Peru is from surveys conducted in 2022, which showed that 87% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 88% think they are effective. 89% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 71% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Peru has decreased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, average vaccine confidence was very high*. 90% of people felt that vaccines were safe and 90% thought they were effective. 97% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines.
