Vaccine confidence in Italy is very high1 compared to other countries. The latest data we have for Italy is from surveys conducted in 2022 which showed that 85% of people feel that vaccines are safe and 90% think they are effective. 85% of those surveyed said they believe it’s important for children to have vaccines and 86% feel that vaccines are compatible with their religious beliefs.

Confidence in vaccines in Italy has increased since the first surveys carried out there. In 2015, 75% of people felt that vaccines were safe while 78% thought they were effective. 82% said they believed it was important for children to have vaccines and 71% felt that vaccines were compatible with their religious beliefs.
